Greetings traveler—and welcome to Muzoracle, the tool for engaging the imagination and intuition through music and story!
In the menu bar above, you'll find first the Beginnings stories: they tell you what the Muzoracle is, what it's for, and where it comes from. Following Beginnings are the Layout and Interpretation stories—they tell you how to cast and interpret the oracle, using the indexes: Musician's Die, Solfège Dice, Brass, Strings, Woodwinds, Percussion, Voices, and Compositionals A-Z. Beyond the indexes, the In Depth stories explore the elements of the system in greater detail. For the truly adventurous, the Mechanics to Metaphor stories dig into the system's underlying cosmology; and the Deeper Yet and Further Still stories go, well, deeper yet and further still.
While you're here, please do check out the introductory video below. The Muzoracle can appear dense and daunting at first glance—watching the video, you'll see that it's simple to get started, and just fine to keep it simple, if you like. In the footer at the bottom of the page you'll find a download link for Muzoracle Mythopoetics: A User's Guide—a colorful, detailed PDF that covers pretty much everything you'll find on this site in a searchable, printable form. (The Muzoracle package, along with its cards and dice and carrying pouches, includes a spiral-bound, full-color Quick Reference as well—in it are basic instructions plus very abbreviated indexes, perfect for beginners or a quick memory jog.)
The Muzoracle was created and developed—and is ever being developed—by composer and recording artist J S Kingfisher (Jeff.) He casts the oracle with clients at his studio in California's Coachella Valley, and via Zoom or Messenger; he also lectures occasionally and leads workshops. Please feel free to book some time with him, and sign up for the email list or follow one of the social media links below to stay posted.
