Repeat

repetition, redundancy

In a musical score, the colon-like repeat symbols -- as shown on the Repeat Card -- bracket a passage which is to be played again. There’s usually a notation above the passage indicating how many times it is to be replayed: 2x, 3x, etc. In a casting, the Repeat Card indicates -- not surprisingly -- repetition. It may be that something requires repeating or reiteration; or, it may be that what's at hand is a rerun of something gone before.
